Founders’ work to build World Peace

Holy Spirit Association for the Unification of World Christianity, HSAUWC

The Unification Movement (UM) started as a religious association (HSAUWC) and then develop into hundreds of activities, grouped into various bodies (Religious, philosophics, economics,artistics, etc.).

Unification Church

From its significant expansion in the USA during the 1970s and its subsequent growth in Europe, the movement was primarily recognized as the Unification Church. This nomenclature continued to be in use until the early 1990s, after which new organizational structures and names began to emerge.

Family Fed.

In May 1994, Reverend Moon announced the merger of all of his religious, political, cultural and business organizations into a new group: the Family Federation for World Peace and Unification (FFWPU)

As a Peace-Loving Global Citizen

Through earnest prayer Father Moon uncovered the mystery of God’s providence, the reason for human suffering and new insights into history that would eventually make up the core teachings of the Unification Movement. With a love for his country, God and all people, he spread God’s message to the world.

Mother of Peace

After her husband’s passing, Dr. Moon has taken over the leadership of the organizations she and her husband founded.

Blessing and World Peace

The Holy Marriage Blessing Ceremony conducted by Reverend and Mrs. Moon are intended to restore the mistakes of the past, address the social problems of the present and hasten the realization of God’s ideal of creation.

Substantiating the Vision

Following years of relentless effort and overcoming significant adversity, Reverend Moon was finally able to establish larger federations that gave concrete substance to the vision of “one human family under God”.

The Women Fed.

  • a women’s organization that promotes women as an essential ingredient in creating a peaceful global society.
  • Empowering women as peacebuilders and leaders in the family to transform the community, nation and world.
  • The Women’s Federation for World Peace International was founded by Dr. Hak Ja Han Moon and her late husband Rev. Dr. Sun Myung Moon. Working together on the global arena for over fifty years, they supported one another in their mutual quest for peace.

The Peace Fed.

  • an international and interreligious network of individuals and organizations, including representatives from religion, government, civil society and the private sector, is dedicated to achieving world peace.
  • An NGO in general consultative status with the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations, UPF supports the work of the United Nations, particularly in the areas of interfaith peacebuilding, peace education, and the strengthening of marriage and family.
  • Rev. Sun Myung Moon and his wife, Dr. Hak Ja Han Moon, founded the Universal Peace Federation (UPF) in 2005.
